  • "When does the season start and when does it end?"

At Urban Cuts we typically start the mowing season mid April and finish mid November.

  • How Do You Determine Pricing?

We believe in honesty and transparency when it comes to our pricing structure. There is also several ways we use to  price your home. Slopes, edges, pets, gate size, parking and sqft are some of them.

However, we understand that we may not be the right fit for everyone. If you're seeking price discounts, bartering, or price matching, Urban Cuts may not be the service for you. We operate with standardized pricing on all services to ensure fairness and sustainability for our business. While we may not offer the prices of your neighborhood teenager or weekend warrior, we strive to provide competitive rates without compromising on quality.

  • What areas do you service?

We proudly provide professional lawn care and landscaping services throughout Utah County, serving homeowners and businesses in:

    • Orem
    • Vineyard
    • Pleasant Grove
    • Lindon
  • "My lawn hasn't been mowed for several weeks and is a bit overgrown..."

On your very first mowing service, if the lawn is overgrown it can take the crew 2-3 times longer to mow the grass. This initial cut will cost extra to establish defined edges and an appropriate grass length but after that your price will fall in alignment with the standard cost.

  • “My lawn only takes 20 minutes to mow. why does it cost so much?”

Even if the lawn is 1000 sq feet, we still must charge our minimum service charge. Trucks, trailers, insurance, fuel, and other expenses make it important for us to charge that minimum price.

  • How Often Should I Schedule a Yard Cleanup?

Most homeowners benefit from a yard cleanup at least twice a year, typically in the spring and fall. However, properties with mature trees, heavy leaf accumulation, or overgrown landscaping may require additional cleanups throughout the year to maintain a neat and healthy appearance.

  • Why Does My Lawn Need Aeration?

Over time, soil becomes compacted from foot traffic, mowing, and everyday use. Compacted soil restricts the flow of water, oxygen, and nutrients to the roots. Aeration relieves compaction, promotes deeper root growth, improves drought tolerance, and helps create a thicker, healthier lawn.

  • Why Should I Seed My Lawn?

Over time, lawns can develop thin areas, bare spots, and weakened grass due to weather, foot traffic, pets, pests, and other stresses. Seeding helps fill in these areas with new grass, creating a thicker, healthier lawn that looks better and naturally helps reduce weed growth.

  • Should I Aerate Before Seeding?

Yes. Aerating before seeding is highly recommended because it improves seed to soil contact and allows water, oxygen, and nutrients to reach the root zone more effectively. Combining aeration with overseeding often produces the best results for establishing a thicker, healthier lawn.

  • How Often Should My Lawn Be Fertilized?

Most lawns benefit from fertilization three times per year, in the spring, summer, and fall. This schedule provides your lawn with the nutrients it needs during key stages of growth and helps maintain healthy, consistent growth throughout the season.

  • What Are the Benefits of Professional Tree Trimming?

Professional tree trimming improves the appearance of your landscape, promotes healthy growth, increases sunlight and airflow through the canopy, and helps identify potential problems before they become costly issues. Proper trimming also helps reduce safety hazards caused by weak, dead, or overgrown branches.

  • Do You Offer Recurring Garden Bed Maintenance Services?

Yes! We offer recurring garden bed maintenance services to keep your landscape looking clean, healthy, and weed free throughout the growing season. Regular maintenance helps prevent weeds from becoming established, promotes healthier plant growth, and keeps your landscape beds looking their best year round.

  • When should I dethatch my lawn?

The best time to dethatch your lawn is during the peak growing season so it can recover quickly afterward. For cool season grasses (common in Utah), this is typically early spring. These season provide ideal temperatures and moisture for regrowth.

  • Why is shrub pruning important?

Shrub pruning is important because it helps maintain the health, appearance, and structure of your plants. Regular pruning removes dead, damaged, or diseased branches, which prevents pests and disease from spreading. It also encourages healthy new growth, improves air circulation and sunlight penetration.
